The History of the Bounce House

April 7th, 2010

In 1959 a man named John Scurlock designed an inflatable cover for a tennis court, an idea that would eventually lead to one of the most popular party accessories available today. After watching his employees jumping around on his invention, Mr. Scurlock decided to make an inflatable mattress of sorts for a new form of fun. Eventually he expanded his idea to include larger models, and over the years the idea has transformed to become one of the coolest backyard party attractions ever. The business was known originally as the Space Walk and Mrs. Scurlock had the idea to make the inflatable fun obtainable by renting out the air filled structures. Today there are over one hundred rental facilities still sharing the fun for family parties everywhere.

The Bounce House, known by other names such as: the Moon Walk, Jolly Jumper or Astro Walk, has grown in popularity since its inception. Only rentals were available during the early years, but eventually these fun party inflatable structures have become affordable for most families to enjoy the fun in their very own backyards. Carnivals, churches and schools rent them and charge fees to raise monies. The Bounce House is a very versatile way to entertain or raise funds for events, and is a relatively safe way to make any occasion a hit.

Bounce Houses are constructed of a PVC or nylon and vinyl material which is sturdy and flexible at the same time. This material is also able to handle small punctures without damaging the Bounce House itself. Once just a mattress inflated with one or more fans, the Bounce House has become a structure with columns and a roof that is still inflated by fans. The difference in the construction is that the air has more area to move about, which takes less energy (one fan as opposed to two or more like earlier designs) and is nowhere near as hot in the summer months. Mesh is used to keep the participants from tumbling out, while also allowing parents the opportunity to watch while their children bounce around inside. And keep in mind, children aren’t the only ones who enjoy Bounce Houses — they are structurally supportive for adults to enjoy the fun as well!

There are many designs readily offered for renting or purchasing. Castles and animals are two of the most noted designs to attract attention. There are even inflatable slides for your swimming pool! Water parks are offering Bounce House structures complete with water slides as new attractions for visitors. With the internet it is easy to purchase a new or even used Bounce House of your very own. Since they are inflatable storage is a breeze, however if you don’t have the space or the desire to own there are still many rental options available to you. Many rental facilities have trained staff to set up & take down the inflatable houses, as well as provide safety tips. Bounce Houses are available for any party you desire and certainly will make you the envy of the neighborhood!

Inflatable Canoes - An Alternative to High Cost Canoes

April 5th, 2010

Do you want to enjoy water? Want to sprint or ramble on the water? Then personal canoes may be your favorite, but today. Have you thought of an alternative of canoes? Maybe, considering inflatable canoes, you can have a totally different experience. A traditional canoe can cost upwards of $2,500 whereas a quality inflatable canoe can be purchased for under $500. This is a vast difference and one that any frugal shopper should be aware of. What’s interesting about this is that an inflatable canoe can be every bit as durable and a ton more convenient than a traditional canoe.

So not only are inflatable canoes less expensive than traditional canoes, they are also more convenient. What do I mean by this? Simply the fact that an inflatable canoe can be inflated and deflated as needed makes it a ton more convenient than a traditional canoe. Imagine being able to carry your canoe in the trunk of your car, and then inflating it as needed. In many ways this is the very definition of convenience.

The biggest factor to consider in terms of inflatable canoes is the same as other inflatable products, such as inflatable castles, —— the manufacturer. You want to purchase your inflatable canoe from a quality manufacturer. If you purchase from a quality manufacturer your inflatable canoe will last you for many years without any problems. So, how do you know that you’re dealing with a quality manufacturer? There are a couple of things to look for.

A quality manufacturer of inflatable canoes will stand behind their products with things like money back guarantees, free shipping, and/or trial periods. These types of incentives tell you that the manufacturer believes in their products and is confident you will like them. If not, they will take care of you. These are some of the things to look for when in the market for an inflatable canoe.

The bottom line is that inflatable canoes are a true alternative to high cost canoes. Why spend thousands of dollars when you don’t have to? As long as you buy from a quality manufacturer who stands behind their products, your inflatable canoe will perform and last as long as any traditional canoe. Do some research an find out for yourself all that inflatable canoes have to offer.

Inflatable dragon

March 24th, 2010

Chinese New Year is a Chinese traditional festival. We also call it the Spring Festival. It is on lunar January 1st. Dragons are particularly popular in China and the five-clawed dragon was a symbol of the Chinese emperors.

On New Year’s Eve, all the people sit around the desk and have a big family dinner. There are some vegetables, some fish, some meat, some fruits and some drink like juice, Coke, Pepsi and some nice wine. Overall, this is a good and delicious dinner. After dinner, we always watch TV New Year program. We have a wonderful evening on New Year’s Eve. And the most interesting thing is dragon dance.

These inflatable dragons are very lovely and interesting. During the Spring Festival, we can all of them in the streets, parks and many festival activities. A lot of people crowd in the street to watch dragon dance. It is a busy scene. People of all ages are get together to celebrate the royal festival. The dragon is sometimes used in the West as a national emblem of China. It is generally used as the symbol of culture. At the same time, the dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck.

Dragons are usually shown in modern times with a body like a huge lizard, or a snake with two pairs of lizard-type legs, and able to emit fire from their mouths. Although dragons occur in many legends around the world, different cultures have varying stories about monsters that have been grouped together under the dragon label. Some dragons are said to breathe fire or to be poisonous. The number nine is special in China as it is the largest possible single digit, and Chinese dragons are frequently connected with it. This is also why there are nine forms of the dragon and the dragon has nine children. However, it is a legend.

When the Spring Festival is coming, it is spring up many inflatable dragons in the market. There are different shapes. And   they are very vivid and lovely. Like some super markets, they use the inflatable dragons to decorate. And organize some business activities.

Dragon is mysterious. We do not know if it exists long time ago. But today we use advanced technology to design a lot of kinds of inflatable products. It is our symbol of our Chinese, and standing for the prosperous and flourishing of China.

Inflatable advertising items

March 22nd, 2010

Nowadays social is the social of market economy. Products are important, what’s more important is the way to occupy the market and seize opportunities. Television, radio, newspaper etc are the traditional way for advertisement. But they are expensive in pay and time limited, the influence to customers are restricted.

A now and effective way for attract people is advertising by inflatable products. In the modern market, there are various of inflatable products, such as inflatable balloons, inflatable arches, inflatable cartons, inflatable screens, and so on.

Firstly, let’s have a glance at the inflatable arches. Inflatable arch is an arch that is inflated by an external cold air inflation fan connected to the arch via an inflation tube. Inflatable arches are customarily 10’ to 20’ high and 15’ to 30’ wide when inflated and often used as entrances to events or as ad apace and mile markers for races. Multiple design capability makes the arch a very versatile component for multiple event and promotional initiatives. Some if the more popular designs include the tube arch and the block arch both of which can be further customized with three dimensional protrusions, digital print log art and temporary banner areas.

Another kind of advertisement inflatable product is inflatable movie screen. It is an inflatable framework with an attached projection screen. Inflatable screens are used for outdoor movies, film festivals, drive-in theaters, sports, social and other events which require outdoor projection,

The frame is typically inflated with the use of h high pressure blower. The blower continues to operate, ensuring the screen remains fully a permanent inflation as they are virtually airtight and stay inflated without electricity for several days.

the most commonly used inflatable advertising products may be the inflatable balloons. A balloon is an inflatable flexible bag filled with a type of gas, such as helium, hydrogen, nitrous oxide or air. Modern balloons can be made from materials such as rubber, latex, polychloroprene, or a nylon fabric, while some early balloons were sometimes made of dried animal bladders. Some balloons are purely decorative, while others are used for specific purposes such as meteorology, medical treatment, military defense, or transportation. A balloon’s properties, including its low density and relatively low cost, have led to a wide range of applications.

Various inflatable products are attractive, out-looking. They are usually cheap and can be used timelessly. Therefore, inflatable products become more and more popular and welcomed by merchants.

Inflatable buildings

March 5th, 2010

An inflatable building is an inflatable structure constructed using two layers of membrane connected together, typically using spars made from the same material. The cavity formed between the layers is pressurized with air producing a rigid structural element which allows large span structures to be achieved. The key difference between air-supported buildings and inflatable buildings is that air-supported buildings require airlocks at all the access points to prevent air being lost when doors are opened since the entire occupied space of the building is pressurized.
An inflatable building only requires pressurized air within the cavities of the walls and so does not require airlocks since the occupied interior of the building is at normal atmospheric pressure. Since a much lower volume of air is pressurized, inflatable buildings require less power for continuous operation.

The air contained within the infltable walls of an inflatable building becomes a true structural part of the building. The membranes used in the construction of such buildings are typically less than 1mm thick, so the amount of membrane used compared to the volume of air contained within the walls is incredibly low (typically less than 0.5%). This makes inflatable buildings efficient in terms of the amount of raw materials required to construct them.

The small amount of material used in the construction of inflatable buildings makes them highly portable. When a building needs to be moved, the air can simply be allowed to escape enabling an entire building to be packed into a small volume compared to its inflated size. The building can then be transported easily to its new location and re-inflated.

Nowadays, inflatable structures and inflatable buildings are used in many ways including membrane roofs and covers, sails, buildings and pavilions, airships, furniture, airspace structures, boats, escape slides, security mattresses, swimming pools, coverings, games and castles, air bags and many other applications.

Festivities of Chinese New Year

February 28th, 2010

As is know to all, Chinese New Year, which is also named as Lunar New Year, or spring festival, is the most significant dates for Chinese. Chinese New year is about 15 days, from the first day of the first month (Chinese zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival.

First day
The first day is for the welcoming of the deities of the heavens and earth, officially beginning at midnight. Many people, especially Buddhists, abstain from meat consumption on the first day because it is believed that this will ensure longevity for them. Some consider lighting fires and using knives to be bad luck on New Year’s Day, so all food to be consumed is cooked the day before. For Buddhists, the first day is also the birthday of Maitreya Bodhisattva (better known as the more familiar Budai Luohan), the Buddha-to-be. People also abstain from killing animals.
Most importantly, the first day of Chinese New Year is a time when families visit the oldest and most senior members of their extended family, usually their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents.
Some families may invite a lion dance troupe as a symbolic ritual to usher in the Lunar New Year as well as to evict bad spirits from the premises. Members of the family who are married also give red envelopes containing cash to junior members of the family, mostly children and teenagers. Business managers also give bonuses through red envelopes to employees for good luck and wealth.

Second day
The second day of the Chinese New Year is for married daughters to visit their birth parents. Traditionally, daughters who have been married may not have the opportunity to visit their birth families frequently.
On the second day, the Chinese pray to their ancestors as well as to all the gods. They are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.

Third day
The third day is known as “chì kǒu” (赤口), directly translated as “red mouth”. “chì kǒu is also called “chì gǒu rì” (赤狗日). “chì gǒu” means “the God of Blazing Wrath” (熛怒之神). It is generally accepted that it is not a good day to socialize or visit your relatives and friends.

Fifth day
In northern China, people eat jiǎo zi, or dumplings on the morning of Po Wu (破五). This is also the birthday of the Chinese god of wealth. In Taiwan, businesses traditionally re-open on this day, accompanied by firecrackers.
It is also common on the mainland, that on the 5th day locals will shoot off firecrackers, in the attempt to get Guan Yu’s attention, thus ensuring his favor and good fortune for the new year.

Seventh day
The seventh day, traditionally known as renri , the common man’s birthday, the day when everyone grows one year older. It is the day when tossed raw fish salad, yusheng, is eaten. This is a custom primarily among the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia and Singapore. People get together to toss the colourful salad and make wishes for continued wealth and prosperity.

Eighth day
Another family dinner to celebrate the eve of the birth of the Jade Emperor. However, everybody should be back to work by the 8th day. All of government agencies and business will stop celebrating by the eighth day.

Ninth day
The ninth day of the New Year is a day for Chinese to offer prayers to the Jade Emperor of Heaven (天宮) in the Taoist Pantheon. The ninth day is traditionally the birthday of the Jade Emperor. This day is especially important to Hokkiens. Come midnight of the eighth day of the new year, Hokkiens will offer thanks giving prayers to the Emperor of Heaven. Offerings will include sugarcane as it was the sugarcane that had protected the Hokkiens from certain extermination generations ago. Incense, tea, fruit, vegetarian food or roast pig, and paper gold is served as a customary protocol for paying respect to an honored person.

Thirteenth day
On the 13th day people will eat pure vegetarian food to clean out their stomach due to consuming too much food over the last two weeks.
This day is dedicated to the General Guan Yu, also known as the Chinese God of War. Guan Yu was born in the Han dynasty and is considered the greatest general in Chinese history. He represents loyalty, strength, truth, and justice. According to history, he was tricked by the enemy and was beheaded.
Almost every organization and business in China will pray to Guan Yu on this day. Before his life ended, Guan Yu had won over one hundred battles and that is a goal that all businesses in China want to accomplish. In a way, people look at him as the God of Wealth or the God of Success.

Fifteenth day
The fifteenth day of the new year is celebrated as yuán xiāo jié (元宵节), otherwise known as Chap Goh Mei in Fujian dialect. Rice dumplings tangyuan (simplified Chinese: 汤圆; traditional Chinese: 湯圓; pinyin: tāngyuán), a sweet glutinous rice ball brewed in a soup, is eaten this day. Candles are lit outside houses as a way to guide wayward spirits home. This day is celebrated as the Lantern Festival, and families walk the street carrying lighted lanterns.
This day often marks the end of the Chinese New Year festivities.

Besides, don’t forget to follow the instructions that come with your inflatable pool to make sure it is constructed properly.

Inflatable Cartoons

September 24th, 2009

inflatable cartoon

As inflatable mentioned, the first thing appearing in people’s mind would be various inflatable cartoons. Indeed, inflatable industry developed from cartoon, and many business companies take use of cartoon characters to advertising their products.

But do you know the stories about their lovely cartoon characters?

Do you know the dog Pluto?

It is Mickey Mouse’s best loved pet. He is loyal and friendly to Mickey, and when Mickey is in danger, he will do every effort to help him without any consideration of his own safety. Although he can not say any words, Mickey can understand him, and communicate with him well. Pluto is a little naughty, and makes some little trouble to Mickey sometimes. But doubtlessly these little disadvantages do not reduce Mickey’s love to him.

The dog firstly came into people’s view with the name Pluto in 1931 in the film The Moose Hunt. And before this, he had already played a role in two short films about Mickey Mouse. One is The Chain Gang / 1930, he played a bloodhound without his own name in it. And the other is The Picnic / 1930.

In this film he is Minnie’s dog, named Rover.

2

Just the same as Pluto, there is another companion of Mickey, he is dog, Goofy. He is a kind lubber and a careless idle fellow. He is also a loyal pal of Mickey. But different from Pluto, he is an imaginary character, while Pluto is a real dog. With the appearance of dog, Goofy is humanized. So he can speak, and he can walk with his two legs. People’s impression of Goofy mostly come from the cartoon The Goof Troop, filmed in 1990.besides, people can also find his image in various cartoons of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Of course, there are many other cartoon character inflatable products, these inflatable products attract people‘s attention when they are used in advertising, and brings much pleasure to people’s spare life.
